The underlying technology that powers our email
system is based on a cluster setup that allows for
redundancy in all aspects of our email service. A cluster
is a group of linked computers working together to
operate like a single computer. Our email system uses
a primary and secondary server (cluster) that houses
the email data. The primary server handles all of the
load and if it should ever fail, the secondary server
takes over automatically and becomes the new primary
server. Therefore, our customers rarely experience any
downtime. This also allows the system administrators
to perform maintenance at any time by switching
customers from the primary to the secondary server
without incurring any disruptions in email service.
